BCS is pleased to welcome Michael Cromartie as our guest speaker on Friday, January 21, 2011.

Michael is Vice President at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and he directs both the Evangelicals in Civic Life and Religion & the Media programs. He is also a senior advisor to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life and a senior fellow with The Trinity Forum.

In addition, Michael is an adjunct professor at the Reformed Theological Seminary, an advisory editor of Christianity Today, and served as an advisor to the PBS documentary series With God on Our Side: The Rise of the Christian Right in America. He was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.

Michael has edited numerous books, including Piety and Politics: Evangelicals and Fundamentalists Confront the World (co-edited with Richard John Neuhaus), which was selected as one of the twenty-five best books of 1988 by Eternity magazine.
For his perspective on religion and politics, Michael has been appeared on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, NBC's Evening News with Brian Williams, ABC World News Tonight, CNN and BBC Radio among others. He has been quoted in the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, The New Republic, the New York Times, Christianity Today, U.S. News & World Report, The Weekly Standard, the Boston Globe, Associated Press, and numerous other newspapers and magazines in America and Europe.

Michael is a graduate of Covenant College (GA), and holds an M.A. in Justice from The American University in Washington, D.C.
