BCS is honored to welcome Col. Thomas M. (Mike) Durham as speaker at our next meeting on Friday, April 23. Mike serves as head Chaplain at the U.S. Military Academy (West Point).
The son of a Marine, Mike was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He joined the Army Reserve in 1974 and achieved active duty status in 1978. He subsequently served for six years as an officer in the Adjutant General Corps. In 1984 he left active duty to attend seminary. He returned to active duty as Chaplain in 1989 after pastoring Shannondorah Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Among Mike’s many service awards and decorations are the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star.
Mike holds a bachelors degree from Wake Forest University and a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Janice, have two children and one grandchild.
Chaplain Mike will be sharing a message entitled “Consider the Call of God!: from Micah 6:1-8. Breakfast will open at 6:20 a.m. and we will finish by 8:00 a.m. Please invite a friend!
