  BCS Meets Friday, February 19:

► Jim Daly, President of Focus on the Family
Jmi DalyBCS is pleased to welcome Jim Daly this Friday, February 19, 2010.  Jim assumed his current position as President of Focus on the Family in 2005, after 16 years with the ministry. It is the culmination of a personal journey that began with a series of tragedies that landed him in an orphanage at the age of 9. After several tough years in foster care Daly found meaning, purpose and a sense of belonging when he gave his life to Christ in high school.

"I am living proof," he wrote in his 2007 autobiography, Finding Home, "that no matter how torn up the road has already been, or how pothole-infested it may look ahead, nothing – nothing – is impossible for God." All attendees will receive a copy of Jim’s book. Jim is willing to sign books after the meeting.

Jim earned a Business Administration degree from California State University/San Bernardino and worked in the corporate world before joining Focus on the Family. He later completed his MBA in International Business at Regis University in Denver. In 2009, he received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Colorado Christian University in Denver.

Daly has received the 2008 World Children's Center Humanitarian Award and the 2009 Children's Hunger Fund Children's Champion Award. He is a regular panelist for The Washington Post/Newsweek blog "On Faith", and has appeared as a commentator on several cable news programs.

Daly’s next book, tentatively titled Stronger, will discuss in depth the ways God works through tragedy in the lives of His people. It is scheduled to be published in the fall of 2010. Daly and his wife, Jean, have two sons and reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Breakfast begins at 6:20 a.m., and we will conclude promptly at 8 a.m.  Please join us, and invite a friend!
