On Friday, February 5, the BCS Leadership Tem is pleased to welcome back author, comic and NCS Co-Founder Eric Metaxas. Eric is the author of the best-selling Everything You Always Wanted to Know About God (But Were Afraid to Ask) and Amazing Grace, a biography of William Wilberforce and his fight to end slavery in England. He is also well known for his work with Chuck Colson, VeggieTales and other children’s books and videos.
Eric is also one of three men that co-founded the New Canaan Society when they began meeting in Jim Lane's family room in the early 1990's. Today he serves as the Emcee for the NCS Annual Retreat, bringing his own unique flavor of humor and wit to that role.
Eric grew up in Danbury, Connecticut. He attended Yale University, where he edited the Yale Record (the nation's oldest college humor magazine) and delivered the Class History, a satirical address that is a Yale graduation tradition. Eric is the director and host of Socrates in the City: Conversations on the Examined Life, a monthly event of "entertaining and thought-provoking" discussions on life, God, and other topics that meets in NYC. You can learn more about Eric, his work and the inner workings of his mind at his aptly-named website, www.ericmetaxas.com.
Eric's topic will be "AMAZING Grace: The Rest of the Story." Breakfast starts at 6:20a.m. and we will done by 8 a.m. Please invite a friend!
